Ballarat Junior Basketball Courtside with Australia Boomers

Four Ballarat junior basketballers are excited to be given the chance to be courtside for the Australian Boomers and Rollers on Thursday night at Hisense Arena. The Boomers will take on the PAC-12 College All Stars team in their final farewell game before they head off to Rio for the Olympics.

Local Ballarat clubs Drummo Dragons, Saints and Celtic Tigers will be represented during the games with Ballarat being offered the chance to provide four court wipers for both the Australian Rollers and the Australian Boomers games.

Brothers McMillan and Finlay Odgers along with Tommy Ford and Alexander Randich will be off to rub shoulders with the likes of Patty Mills, Joe Ingles and 2016 NBA Champion Matthew Dellavedova. Both McMillan and Finlay are current court wipers for the GMHBA Ballarat Miners and Rush and have been picked for their hard work and commitment to the teams.

Tommy and Alexander both received the position through a Facebook promotion published on Basketball Ballarat’s page earlier this week.

Basketball Australia’s Aussie Hoops Coordinator Darren Anderson sent through the invite to Basketball Ballarat with this once in a lifetime opportunity.

Drummo Dragons President, Jade Odgers, mother of McMillan and Finlay said “it’s a fantastic opportunity for both my boys to be rewarded for their commitment to the Miners and Rush throughout last season and this one to date. It will be great to see them out on the big stage amongst the best Australia players”.

The Rollers game will tip off from 5.45pm and the Boomers game will follow from 7.30pm at Hisense Arena.
