The Selkirk Ballarat Rush are thrilled to announce the signing of Alisia Jenkins who will join the team for NBL1 2020 when the teams move to the Ballarat Sports Events Centre.

Jenkins was excited to be heading to Ballarat for the upcoming season playing at the new Ballarat Sports Events Centre.

“I’m so excited to be part of the Selkirk Ballarat Rush this season playing in the NBL1 South” Jenkins said.

“I’ve also heard so many great things about the community and heard the fans energy and atmosphere is electrifying” Jenkins said.

Jenkins has been playing for TFSE-MKT in Hungary while leading the league in both points at 21.9 and rebounds with 12.2 which is exciting for Ballarat ahead of a big season.

“I personally hope I can bring a competitor edge and I hope that I can help lead this team into playoffs”

Jenkins is the younger cousin of Chanise who is returning to the Selkirk Ballarat Rush for 2020 after her debut season for the team in the inaugural season of the NBL1.

Head Coach Eric Hayes was looking forward to having Alisia Jenkins join the team for the upcoming season.

“We are very excited to have Alisia join the Selkirk Ballarat Rush for 2020 and it is great to have a super talented player that wants to be part of the program.” Hayes said.

Hayes was enthusiastic around what to expect of Alisia on the court when the teams play at the Ballarat Sports Events Centre for the first time.

“Alisia is a super athlete that is a relentless rebounder, she runs to floor like a guard and she is fantastic finishing around the basket.  She will be a great piece for our team this season as she is can play many position on offence and guard many positions on defence.”

Hayes was upbeat around having Alisia around the community as well as someone for the junior players to look up to.

“Alisia will also be a great role model for our junior players as she will display a style of play that is at a very high level. The most important thing about Alisia is she is a super young lady.  She is very personable and easy to talk to so she will fit in to the Ballarat community really well and be a great ambassador for our program.”

Alisia Jenkins will join the Selkirk Ballarat Rush Roster after the recent announcements of, Alicia Froling, Chanise Jenkins, Kristy Rinaldi, Claire Constable and Taylah Wynne for NBL1 2020.
